Rockstar Games GTA 6 Leak Statement

GTA 6 Hype Causes Take-Two Shares to Soar

Since the official announcement of the new Grand Theft Auto, which was confirmed last week with a trailer expected in early December, shares at Take-Two have soared to a 19-month high at the company. Since the confirmation, Take-Two stock gained 3.7% to over $156. This marks the highest stock price at the publisher since last April.

According to Deutsche Bank analyst Benjamin Soff, he expects Take-Two shares to skyrocket beyond the original predicted $155 to at least $175 by the end of the year. Grand Theft Auto will be the catalyst for this price surge due to the hype and stigma surrounding the popular video game franchise.

We have already seen the hype around the game take over social media. The official Rockstar Games confirmation post on X (formerly Twitter), has now become the most popular video game tweet of all time. It has amassed over 174 million views, been liked 1.5 million times and has over 500k ‘reposts’.

Keep in mind that we haven’t actually seen anything official related to GTA 6 yet. The previous leaks which rocked the internet back in 2022, were reportedly based on the game but Rockstar has yet to share any official gameplay.

Analysts expect Take-Two to release GTA 6 within the company’s 2025 fiscal year which starts in March 2024 and ends in March 2025. However, another analyst believes the game will arrive before the end of March 2024 as Take-Two aims to launch it before the end of its current fiscal year.

This would align the release with recent rumours that claimed GTA 6 would launch before the end of March next year. However, rumours are rumours so take them with a pinch of salt. Take-Two is expected to announce the next Grand Theft Auto in “early December”. Whether or not that announcement will come with a release date is yet to be seen.

The announcement might arrive during The Game Awards which is also set for 7 December.
