The release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been somewhat narrowed down to an oddly specific window in October. Along with the news of its supposed launch date, another rumour claims that Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive is gearing up to launch GTA 6 on PC in early 2026, which will be very soon after its console release.
As reported by Kotaku, the outlet claims that GTA 6 will launch on 28 October 2025 – or at least somewhere around that release date. The site argues that since Borderlands 4, a Take-Two-published title, is officially launching in late September, this leaves October as the month when we can expect the next Grand Theft Auto. November might be out of the question as Take-Two probably wouldn’t want to clash with this year’s Call of Duty title, which historically tends to launch in November each year. That said, GTA 6 is expected to outsell Call of Duty this year.
Elsewhere, peripherals maker Corsair has claimed that the PC release for GTA 6 is early 2026 (via Video Games Chronicle). Speaking in its latest financial results, Corsair Gaming’s financa VP Ronald van Veen stated, “Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”
Take-Two Interactive previously reassured players that GTA 6 will still on track to release this year for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, the first (and as of writing, only) trailer for the game debuted back in December 2023. Since then, Rockstar Games hasn’t provided any official information or a follow-up trailer which fans are clamouring for. Hopefully we’ll hear something about the game sooner rather than later, though we can rest easy knowing that it probably won’t be delayed after all. Probably.
