Rockstar has announced that GTA V will release on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 11 November 2021. The developer did not share any new gameplay footage of the new “enhanced edition”. However, they did mention they are hard at work making the game “more beautiful and more responsive than ever”.
While this release date is a little later than most people expected, at least we know when the game is headed our way. GTA V was originally set to release in early 2021 with a special standalone version of GTA Online being available for free for PS5 owners for the first three months.
Rockstar says that both GTA V and GTA Online will launch on 11 November for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. PlayStation owners will be able to take advantage of the free version of GTA Online on PS5 while also being able to claim the $1,000,000 every month on PS4 until the PS5 version releases.
The new version of GTA V on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will include a range of technical improvements, graphics upgrades and more:
“The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.”
Rockstar has also teased more content coming to GTA Online in the next few months. Players can benefit from incentives and in-game items. However, the developer did not reveal any specific details on that yet. Rockstar also seems to be revving up to announce something special for the 20th anniversary of GTA III. The developer says the months ahead will be filled with “even more fun surprises” in regards to that anniversary.
There have been rumours swirling about a possible GTA III remaster but don’t bank on an announcement just yet. Unfortunately, Rockstar did not share any screenshots or trailers for GTA V on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
