GTA 6 Rockstar Games Developers Respond Trailer Leak

GTA VI Writers Asked to be “Less Crude” Toward Transgender People and Other Minorities

Rockstar Games has reportedly asked the writers on GTA VI to be “less crude” when working on content surrounding transgender people and other minorities. The report comes from Bloomberg and was put together by Jason Schreier, who is a very reliable source when it comes to the video game industry.

He claims that Rockstar asked its writers to be careful when it comes to transgender people and other minorities. In past games, Rockstar would often target transgender people and other minorities as they would be seen as “easy targets” for gags. It seems that Rockstar doesn’t want to repeat the same process in GTA 6 by toning down the focus on this group of people.

To what extent this has been done is unclear at this point. The report simply claims that writers were “asked to be less crude”. If this was actually followed is unclear, and we won’t know until the game is out in 2025.

Previous entries of Grand Theft Auto didn’t hold back on targeting members of the LGBTQ+ community. However, the series has been pretty brutal on all people. The writing has focused on “society” as a whole while making a mockery of everything we witness and experience in the world.

Keep in mind that GTA V did release back in 2013, and the world was a very different place. Since the game’s launch, various mainstream topics have come to light around non-binary, gender-fluid, and transgender people. This has been a hot topic, especially in recent years. Given how dead-focused the world has been on these topics, there’s no doubt that Rockstar has used them as tools for spinning together all sorts of gags in the upcoming GTA 6.

Did the writers follow Rockstar’s orders? We’ll have to wait and see. GTA VI is expected to launch sometime in 2025. The game is set to rule the industry with the developers steering clear of releasing their games in Fall (September – December) to avoid conflicting with GTA VI’s release.

“Rockstar is asking its writers to be less crude toward transgender people and other minorities”

Aha, other minorities……. and white people are only 8% of the earth’s population, so they will avoid being made fun of by Rockstar?
