Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 MCU F-Bomb Clip

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Drops MCU’s First F-Bomb in New Clip

A new clip for the upcoming superhero movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, has dropped the first F-bomb of the MCU. While all MCU movies so far have kept it mostly PG-13 by shying away or censoring swearing, it looks like the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie gets the honour of being the first to break tradition.

A new clip uploaded by Marvel Studios shows a scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in which the heroes get into a car. Sounds simple enough but Nebula has some trouble figuring out how to open the old car’s door, prompting Star-Lord to become frustrated and yell, “open the f**king door.”

The clip obviously censors the word “f**k” but in the final cut of the movie, it’s not censored. According to director James Gunn, this line was actually improvised by Chris Pratt and Gunn. The director liked it so much, he left it in the movie. Hollywood allows one swear word to be used in a PG-13 movie and it’s understandable why Marvel and Disney never really considered it for past projects, though it’s hilarious finally seeing it being used here.

It’s not really something to make a big deal over, though, as the MCU has confirmed an R-rated Deadpool 3 which will surely feature plenty of profanity (and violence) anyway. It just seems fitting for the first F-bomb in the MCU to come from the mouth of Star-Lord.

In related news, the first impressions for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 dropped this week and most critics are calling it one of the saddest MCU movies yet. The trailer seems to focus a lot on Rocket Raccoon and we hope it isn’t leading to the sad conclusion we think it is.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releases in cinemas on 5 May 2023. Check out the new clip below:
