Guerrilla Games Horizon Aloy Super Smash Bros

Guerrilla Games Wants Horizon’s Aloy in Super Smash Bros.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is officially coming to Nintendo Switch (in addition to PS5 and PC) which means there’s a good chance for a Super Smash Bros. crossover. Developer Guerrilla Games shares a similar sentiment as they’d really like to see protagonist Aloy appear in Nintendo’s flagship fighting game franchise.

Speaking to Kotaku in a recent interview, Horizon development lead producer Tim Symons replied to a question asking about the possibility of Aloy appearing in Super Smash Bros. one day. “That’d be nice,” he said. “If you speak to Nintendo and they want to invite us let me know.”

A new Super Smash Bros. game hasn’t been announced yet and Ultimate has seemingly wrapped up its development, so there’s little chance of Aloy appearing in that game. However, there’s a chance that she might show up in future installments. Of course, this involves Sony and Nintendo seeing eye-to-eye on the collaboration – something that rarely happens – though the fact that LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming to Switch is a good first step in that direction.

Guerrilla Games and PlayStation recently announced that Horizon would be getting the LEGO treatment at Summer Game Fest. The game’s official description reads:

“In a distant future, the land is made of LEGO bricks and incredible dinosaur-like machines roam the Earth. Aloy, the game’s leading hero, is found in a cave as a baby and raised by a grizzled huntsman called Rost, who teaches her the way of the wilds. One day, Aloy embarks on a quest to discover her true destiny. Guided by a thousand-year-old hologram of a scientist called Elisabet, Aloy must confront Helis, the leader of a group of sun worshipers who bow to an Ancient Evil shrouded in mystery. There’s much more in store for Aloy and her friends, as their adventure sends them across the tallest mountains and deepest cauldrons — all beautifully recreated in LEGO elements.”

LEGO Horizon Adventures launches this holiday 2024 for PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
