Disney was reportedly hacked over the weekend resulting in over 1TB of data stolen from the company. The information obtained by the hackers includes internal documents, unannounced projects, confidential reports, company information and employee’s personal information.
According to the hacker group, the data breach has resulted in “every message and file possible” being stolen from Disney. The group reportedly obtained this information through the Disney Slack channels. Back in 2023, Rockstar was also hacked in the same way when a British teen was able to access GTA 6 data ahead of the official game announcement.
The hacker group behind the breach is reportedly called Nullbulge. They apparently tried to upload the data to 4chan already but the site removed it.
Disney has yet to comment on the hack. However, information has already begun leaking online which seemingly confirms the breach. An Epic Games X Disney Fortnite document has detailed an annannounced collaboration. In addition, details regarding the Aliens: Fireteam Elite video game sequel have also leaked online.
The Aliens leak was published on Reddit and details the co-op shooter as codename “Project Macondo”. It is claimed to be the next chapter in the Aliens: Fireteam Elite story and expected to launch in Q3 2025.
Apart from that, this Disney hack hasn’t resulted in other information going public yet. The hackers are likely holding on to the data in hopes that Disney pays a random.
Of course, the internet turned the hack into an opportunity for jokes. Social media users say that Disney deserved the hack after “turning Star Wars into shit”. Another user says they feel sorry for the hackers who now need to sort through 1TB of ugly characters.
At the moment, this story is still developing.
