The highly requested campaign co-op for Halo Infinite has missed its initially promised target and could be delayed again. Back in April, developer 343 Industries revealed that it was targeting a late August launch for Halo Infinite‘s campaign co-op. However, with August now over, 343 says it’s providing an update soon about its progress and what fans can look forward to in the coming months.
When asked on Twitter about Halo Infinite‘s promised campaign co-op, studio community manager Brian Jarrard said that the feature is still coming, but targets are always “subject to change.” An update from 343 Industries is expected to arrive soon, presumably to confirm that the campaign co-op has been delayed yet again.

Campaign co-op has been a staple of the Halo series since Combat Evolved, but Halo Infinite marked the first time that the feature didn’t arrive at launch with the title last December. 343 Industries chalked this down to simply not having it ready in time, but assured fans that it was actively working on it. Since then, the feature has been delayed multiple times and fans think it might be delayed yet again.
With August now over, 343 Industries will have to provide an update on the progress of Halo Infinite‘s campaign co-op. The studio previously revealed that it won’t support online matchmaking, meaning players who don’t have a friend to play with will have to seek out other players using alternative means.
Halo Infinite released in December 2021 in two parts: a standalone campaign and a free-to-play multiplayer mode on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The campaign was praised for its return to basics that made Bungie’s Halo games so successful, though was later criticised for its lack of content and generally unfinished state.
