Halo Infinite Multiplayer – Everything We Know So Far

343 Industries has given us a first glimpse at the wonderfully-looking Halo Infinite multiplayer and we can’t wait to get our hands on the mode later this year. For now, we can only share what we sort of know from the gameplay overview and how weapons, vehicles and general gameplay has changed.

For starters, Halo Infinite is free-to-play. Meaning everyone with a PC, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S can jump into the game. You can even join in on the action if you’re into cloud gaming. However, Halo Infinite has a battle pass that players can level up. Thankfully, unlike most battle passes, this one doesn’t expire so you don’t have to max it out before a set date in fear of losing your unlockables.

Speaking of battle passes in Halo Infinite, when more release, players can then choose which one to purchase and work towards. It is a free system that does not restrict everyone from earning everything at the same time. It sounds like a breath of fresh air.

Halo Infinite Cosmetics

All the cosmetics in Halo Infinite are simply cosmetic items there to change the look of your gear. Players can customize their Spartan with a new helmet, arms, armour coating, shoulder pads and more. We then have the guns and vehicles that are also customizable with skins. Halo Infinite is going a step further here by adding voice clips to the loot drops so you can tweak the voice of your character too.

All of these customization options then tie into the new Halo Infinite system where players can create and tweak their items from the Halo Waypoint site or even a mobile app. So you can customize your Spartan’s shoulders, gloves, kneepads, helmet, and visor on the taxi ride home and have it ready for when you power on your console.

Halo Infinite Weapons, Gear and Vehicles

Apart from the visual aesthetic in Halo Infinite, the game also relies on weapons and gear in order for players to experience intense PvP battles. 343 Industries says that the classic weapons are returning in Halo Infinite. This includes the assault rifle, battle rifle, gravity hammer, plasma pistol, needler and the iconic range of grenades. The heavy weapons also include rocket launchers, melee blades and line rifles.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer

If you have ever played a Halo PvP game before then you will feel right at home here. However, there are some new systems in play that may add a little excitement into the mix. One of which is the grappling hook that players can use to fling from one side of the map to the other. Players can also use the grappling hook to grab weapons from a distance and even toss items at other players.

When it comes to the vehicles in Halo Infinite, they are now better than ever. For example, the new Razorback vehicle lets players store weapons on the back of it and carry them across the map should they need to. All vehicles are now spawned into the map by a Pelican instead of being available at the spawn point. The same goes for weapon pods that drop from the sky throughout the match.

Weapons also damage and break differently in Halo Infinite. Instead of them simply exploding with enough damage, players can now shoot the wheels out slowing it down making it harder to handle for the driver. Of course, it can also be blown up with enough damage.

So that is everything we know so far about Halo Infinite and its multiplayer mode. Make sure you catch up on the deep dive gameplay trailer down below for a closer look at the game.
