Halo Infinite Campaign Gameplay Overview

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Reportedly Free-to-Play and Supports 120FPS

According to a new official product listing over at UK retailer Smyths Toys, Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and support up to 120FPS gameplay. Keep in mind that this listing is specifically for the Xbox Series X version of the game. If it was for the PC version then the 120FPS support would be a no brainer.

The listing is on the official Smyths Toys Xbox Series X sign-up page where users can register for news about the console. This includes pre-order information, pricing and availability. The page details a handful of Xbox Series X tech as well as games. The most interesting of course is the description for Halo Infinite and its free-to-play multiplayer.

Enjoy up to 120 FPS and greatly reduced load times creating seamless gameplay with Xbox Series X.[/perfectpullquote]

Keep in mind that up to now, Microsoft has not shared any information in regards to the game’s multiplayer and max frame rate. It seems the 343 Industries is going to max out the Xbox Series X potential to deliver the Halo Infinite multiplayer mode at a higher frame rate than 60FPS. We have already seen the campaign in action and besides the dodgy graphics, the trailer featured 4K 60FPS gameplay.

As for the Halo Infinite multiplayer being free-to-play, this could be too good to be true. This would mean players won’t need to purchase the game to play the game’s biggest mode. In addition, it could also be riddled with microtransactions to make up for the lack of premium price tag. Perhaps 343 Industries wants to make it free to allow for more players to experience the shooter. Maybe there’s a free-to-play battle royale mode somewhere in here? We don’t know what the plans are yet.

As always, this listing could be a mistake so take it with a pinch of salt for now. Catch up on the latest gameplay trailer down below.
