Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will launch on 3 September and bring the popular fantasy sports game to consoles and PC. The game was originally announced in early 2023 before going into closed beta. It is a live-service game but is not free to play. Instead, gamers will need to fork out. $29,99/R549 for the Standard Edition or $39,99/R749 for the Deluxe Edition.
In the debut gameplay trailer, there’s a good look at some of the game features we can expect. It includes a Career Mode and an Online Competitive Mode. There’s also a robust character creation feature where you can customize your different players with outfits, skins, brooms and other cosmetics.
The trailer also says there is a single-player campaign included in the game. This is great for players who just want to play Quidditch without the online aspect.
Pre-ordering Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions grants all players the Firebolt Supreme Broom Skin. The Deluxe Edition, however, comes with a lot of content. You’ll get the base game and 2,000 gold to spend in-game (this is the in-game currency).
The Deluxe Edition also comes with various House Packs which include themed outfits, emblems and Broom Skins for each Hogwarts house.
The Deluxe Edition includes:
- Gryffindor House Pack
- Hufflepuff House Pack
- Slytherin House Pack
- Ravenclaw House Pack
- 2,000 Gold
Of course, you can expect the usual live-service elements in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. There will likely be various seasons launched with battle passes, in-game purchases and cosmetics. Given Warner Bros. is behind this game, we don’t expect any less.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC on 3 September. You can pre-order the game here.
