We are all pretty excited about Niantic’s new Augmented Reality (AR) mobile game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. However, we are yet to play the game as it only been available (via open beta) in Australia and New Zealand so far, but that is about to change this week. Niantic announced that the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite worldwide launch begins this week, 21 June 2019 and although it won’t be available in South Africa this week, things are moving in the right direction.

Although no specific South African release date has been announced, the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite worldwide launch means that the game will start rolling out in South Africa and we will let you know as soon as the release date gets announced. Let’s face it, any Harry Potter fan probably can’t wait to help keep the wizarding world’s magical secrets safe from Muggles, as what is being called The Calamity is causing magic to spill over into the Muggle World. For those who don’t know, Muggles are non-magical folk.
Niantic revealed the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite worldwide launch on Twitter, explaining that:

Hopefully, it won’t be too long now before the game finally reaches South Africa and we can test it out for ourselves to see if it holds up.
