HBO’s The Last of Us Series Gets First Teaser Snippet

HBO has released a new teaser video for a handful of upcoming shows and movies and The Last of Us series is in it. We haven’t seen much of the PlayStation Studios TV show up to now. In fact, the only things we have seen are leaked set photos and details revealed by Naughty Dog themselves.

There isn’t much to get excited about in the new teaser so don’t get your hopes up for your first glimpse of Clickers. The trailer is more of a teaser of the show’s story and showcases the two lead characters including Bella Ramsey who plays Ellie and Pedro Pascal who plays Joel.

The trailer snippet starts out with Ellie talking over some dramatic music. She mentions how alone she is and how anyone she has ever cared for has either left her or died. Joel replies by saying she has no idea what loss is. We then get a few shots of other characters in the show including what seems like Bill and Riley. There are also a few chase scenes and our first look at the cordyceps virus on a wall.

And that’s it. There really isn’t much going on here. Clearly, HBO is still currently working on the CG for the show and they won’t give us any monsters to look at just yet. The Last of Us show still doesn’t have a release date but HBO expects to launch it sometime in 2023.

The series recently wrapped up filming and now post-production is taking place. If you’re craving a bit of The Last of Us, you can look forward to The Last of Us Part I which is set to launch on 4 September for PS5. Catch up on the latest gameplay comparison here.
