Hellblade 2 Enhanced Gets Release Date and PS5 Upgrade For First Game

Xbox has confirmed that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced will release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC this August, bringing visual enhancements and improvements along with a new performance mode. The Enhanced version will be made free for players who already own the game on Xbox and PC but it will be available for $49,99 to PS5 players as it’s launching for the first time on Sony’s console. The first game, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, is also getting a PS5 upgrade as part of the second game’s Deluxe Edition.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced will launch on 12 August 2025 for consoles and PC (via Steam and Xbox on PC). PS5 players who want to play the game will have to pay $49,99 for the standard edition, though a Deluxe Edition will also be available digitally on PlayStation for $69,99. This edition will contain the enhanced base game for Hellblade 2 along with an upgraded PS5 version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. However, players who already own the PS4 version of the first game will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version at no cost.

Hellblade 2 Enhanced will include a new performance mode that allows the game to be run at a smooth 60FPS. Xbox also confirmed that the game will be Steam Deck verified for the first time. “On PC, where you’ve had more flexibility with performance based on your personal hardware, we’re now offering a ‘Very High’ preset to push that fidelity even further,” said Xbox.

Hellblade 2 Enhanced is also getting an optional new game mode featuring the Dark Rot from the first game. Essentially, players can only die so many times before the Dark Rot completely overtakes them, leading to a game over. It’s a challenging mode that will surely please die-hard fans looking for a more difficult playthrough of Hellblade 2.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced releases on 12 August 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. We’ll keep you updated on the local availability for physical versions of the game as soon as we have confirmation.
