Hellblade 2 Reportedly Coming to PS5 ‘Pretty Soon’

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is reportedly coming to PS5 ‘pretty soon’, according to a reliable Xbox leaker. The acclaimed sequel originally released on Xbox Series X/S and PC last year, going on to be nominated for several awards at The Game Awards (including winning Best Audio Design and Best Performance for Melina Juergens). PlayStation players will finally be able to experience the game sooner rather than later, it seems.

The report comes from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who responded to the recent PlayStation State of Play news with, “Hellblade 2 time maybe?” When asked if the game will ever be released on PS5, Corden replied, “Not if, ‘when!’ and when is pretty soon from what I’ve been hearing.”

There’s a good chance that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will make an appearance at tonight’s State of Play event, becoming the next former Xbox exclusive to get a multiplatform release. If not, then according to Corden, it won’t be long soon after the event that it will eventually get a PS5 release – perhaps Microsoft will drop the news on social media like they did when announcing Forza Horizon 5 for PS5.

The official description for Hellblade 2 reads:

“The sequel to the award winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Senua returns in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without.”

Older reports suggest that Xbox isn’t done porting its game over to PlayStation. We could potentially see Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Gears of War also arrive on PS5 in the near future, though it’s unclear when Microsoft plans to make these announcements. Another report claims that the Gears of War Collection, a bundle of the first three games in the series remastered, might be released soon on PS5 as well as Xbox Series X/S and PC.
