Arrowhead has announced that Helldivers 2 will be launching on Xbox platforms next month. The PlayStation 5 and PC game, which turned out to be one of Sony’s only successful live-service projects, will be launching on 26 August for Xbox Series X/S.
According to the studio, the Xbox version of Helldivers 2 will feature full cross-play between PC and PS5. You can also pre-order the game already on Xbox with both the standard edition and Super Citizen Edition available.
The studio says that Helldivers 2 will get loads more content in the months ahead and that there’s “so much more in store for players”. The studio teased fans by saying “the more players we have, the more stories we can tell”.
Helldivers 2 is launching on the same day as the Gears of War Reloaded remaster. The shooter is expected to release on PS5, PC, and Xbox. So you’ll be getting a PlayStation-published game on Xbox and a Microsoft-published game on PS5. What a time to be alive.
