Has your PS4 turned into a Call of Duty console? Are you tired of deleting your sweaty PvP video clips to make room for new Warzone update? There’s a solution available. Infinity Ward has finally acknowledged the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game file size issue and has addressed it with the ability to now delete DLC packs. How, you ask? It is pretty simple. How is how to reduce the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game file size.
– From the main menu select “Options”
– Select the “General” tab
– Scroll down, select “Game Installs”
– Now select the DLC Packs you want to uninstall
This feature allows players to delete multiplayer maps which they don’t play or enjoy. It also helps by reducing the game files for players who don’t even own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and only play Warzone.
Here’s a breakdown of each pack so you know what you are deleting
– Data Pack 1 is required for all multiplayer and Spec Ops play
– All Multiplayer Packs are required for Multiplayer access
– Special Ops Pack and Special Ops Pack 2 are only for Special Ops
If you only play multiplayer, then you can safely delete the “Special Ops Pack 1 and 2”. If you only place Special Ops then delete the “Multiplayer packs”. The only pack you should not delete is Data Pack 1 if you play either Spec Ops or multiplayer. However, if you only play Warzone then you can delete it all as these data packs only work for the Modern Warfare part of the game.
While the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game file size won’t drastically change after doing this, it is a start and even a few GB will help reduce the massive game size. This is a great move for players who only play Modern Warfare or vice versa. In addition, it marks the first game released on PS4 that allows players to delete specific in-game files and content from the menu. Drastic times call for drastic measures.
