We don’t know when exactly Nintendo plans on launching the Switch 2 console. The company was scarce on details regarding the successor to the original Switch and released a single trailer confirming the 2025 launch window, backwards compatibility, and a special 2 April Direct. If you can’t wait to try the Switch 2 for yourself, you can hopefully play with it at one of these special “experience” events planned in April, May and June.
The events will be set up by Nintendo in certain regions. The whole point is to give the public time to test out the hardware and enjoy it before buying one, whenever it arrives. Nintendo hosted the same experience events for the original Switch ahead of its launch.
Sadly, there is no Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Event planned for Africa or even anywhere close by. So South Africans are going to be likely the last fans to play with the console. With that being said, Nintendo plans to host these events in very limited areas, so it makes sense to skip the tip of Africa (or maybe the entire Africa and the Middle-East in this case).
If you live in one of these regions, or perhaps you’re willing to travel to play around with the Switch 2 console, here are all the places you can visit. Keep in mind that you’ll need to register for these experience events by visiting the official website. You’ll also need a Nintendo Account to do so.
