Hogwarts Legacy 100 Side Quests Main Campaign

Hogwarts Legacy Features Over 100 Side Quests That Can Impact The Campaign

Most players already know that open-world RPG titles usually include numerous side quests to tackle and it will be no different for Hogwarts Legacy. The game’s Narrative Director and Advanced Game Write, Moira Squier, confirmed that the upcoming Harry Potter fantasy game will feature more than 100 side quests that can be tackled in any order you want, but they can also have an impact on the main campaign.

Speaking to Games Radar in a recent interview, Squier revealed the staggering amount of side quests that players will be able to tackle in Hogwarts Legacy. Over 100 side quests, including a lengthy main story, will be available in the game. It goes a little deeper than that, though, as choices and decisions that you make in side quests will often impact the main campaign.

For example, how you interact with characters in side quests will tie into the main campaign should you encounter that character again. As Squier puts it:

“The main storyline is complicated and engaging and involves a variety of different characters and viewpoints. But by giving the player choice moments throughout the game, we allow them to tell their own version of that epic story.”

Basically, this allows players to “manipulate the main campaign by virtue of the experiences they’ve had,” Squier added. “Interacting with someone in a side quest will impact how you interact with them in the main storyline – and vice versa.”

Hogwarts Legacy, being an open-world RPG, will give players the experience of dreams: to explore the Hogwarts castle and its surrounding areas including Hogsmead Village. It’s unclear just how large this open-world will be but we imagine that rebuilding the entirety of Hogwarts and its grounds for the game was no easy task. Side quests will seemingly play a big role in how you shape your adventure, so it’s best not to skip any.

Players will be able to tackle side quests in any order they want as well. “The order in which the player chooses to complete these quests will impact their story and game. Everything is interconnected,” said Squier. “So, while it was challenging, it was a lot of fun to do, and it’s rewarding to see how well it turned out.”

Hogwarts Legacy launches on 10 February 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on 4 April 2023, followed by a Nintendo Switch version on 25 July 2023.
