Hogwarts Legacy recently launched for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC to glowing reviews and huge commercial success, if the early pre-order numbers and current player counts are anything to go by. The game is largely a single-player adventure set in the Wizarding World, but some players felt that a multiplayer mode was missing from the experience. As it turns out, modders are currently testing a multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy that will allow players to explore Hogwarts with friends.
The Together Team, a group of modders responsible for the popular Skyrim Together mod, recently uploaded a video showing off a multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy. The mod is still in the testing phases, though, as some kinks still need to be ironed out before it can be released.

The impressive multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy – cleverly titled HogWarp – was showcased in an early build, but it’s clear that some work still needs to be done. The video shows two players meeting and exploring Hogwarts simultaneously. However, one player’s screen shows that it’s night while the other shows daytime. It’s also unclear if progress through the game’s story and side quests will be shared, or if it will require both players to complete quests twice.
The Together Team currently has a Patreon running for HogWarp. A membership costs £46 a month, which will grant you access to private HogWarp servers during the testing phases. There are also promises for early access to HogWarp for lower-tier subscribers, though it’s not known when the mod will officially be available.
Hogwarts Legacy is a compelling single-player journey following in the footsteps of solo RPGs like The Witcher 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition, so it’s unlikely that developer Avalanche Software has plans to implement a multiplayer mode in any official capacity down the line. This mod will likely only be available to PC players, so console players will probably be left out.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. PS4 and Xbox One versions are expected to launch on 4 April 2023, with a Nintendo Switch version arriving on 25 July 2023. Check out the multiplayer mod in action below.
