Those of you who are picking up Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will have two graphics modes to choose from in the game. Like most modern games, Hogwarts Legacy lets you decide between playing the game in performance mode or experiencing the beauty of the world in a 4K fidelity mode.
According to the official Warner Bros support page, Hogwarts Legacy supports multiple graphical modes. However, at the moment the page only mentions two of them. By the sound of things, the game might include others so let’s hope there’s a High Frame Rate Mode which utilizes 4K 120Hz displays to unlock the frame rate at 40Hz.

At the moment the confirmed graphics modes for Hogwarts Legacy include the following:
- Fidelity Mode – 30fps
- Performance Mode – 60fps
It is still too early to tell at what resolution these modes run at. Fidelity usually runs at 4K 30FPS and Performance targets 1440p/1080p 60FPS.
If we look at the Hogwarts Legacy PC system requirements, the recommended/high requirements ask for a GeForce 1080 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. These requirements aren’t very high at all so there’s a good chance the Fidelity mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X indeed targets above 1440p 30FPS.
The support page also confirms that Hogwarts Legacy does come with VRR support for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This means supported monitors can benefit from the tech.
We will know more about these Hogwarts Legacy graphics modes and whether or not there will be other modes included in the game closer to the launch. Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on 10 February for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and. The PS4 and Xbox One launch will follow in April and the Switch launch is planned for July.
