Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for the upcoming open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, specifically highlighting all the exciting PS5 features. These include a look at how the DualSense features work, as well as 3D audio and fast load times on Sony’s current-gen console.

The DualSense controller’s haptic feedback will allow players to feel the impact of various spells being cast and the different terrains that you’ll traverse across. Adaptive triggers will also come into play when throwing spells at enemies, putting some resistance on the triggers depending on the power of each spell.

For added immersion, 3D audio will also be implemented to give players a more involved experience in Hogwarts Legacy. As a neat little touch, the DualSense controller’s lightbar will even glow to match your chosen house. For example, Slytherin will glow green, Gryffindor will glow red, etc.

Finally, Warner Bros. Games touched on the faster loading times on the PS5’s hardware, which are typically faster than the golden snitch.

Hogwarts Legacy is the first attempt at a AAA RPG set within the expansive Harry Potter universe. Set several hundred years before the events of the films, players will take on a custom-created character as they enroll at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From here, they’ll be able to choose a preferred house, take on and specialise in classes and explore beyond the confines of Hogwarts in an open-world.

Everything about the game is shaping up to be quite promising, delivering a role-playing experience that Harry Potter fans have always wanted to play. Hopefully, we’ll see more of the game in the coming months leading up to its release date later this year.
