Hogwarts Legacy Releases on PS4 and Xbox One

Today is the day that last-gen console owners have been waiting for. Hogwarts Legacy is finally out on PS4 and Xbox One. Warner Bros. Games released Hogwarts Legacy for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC already back in February to huge success. As it stands, Hogwarts Legacy is the best-selling game of the year and has already outsold Elden Ring. The PS4 and Xbox One launch is only going to further push sales for the publisher.

The last-gen version was originally meant to release alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launch. However, it was delayed to April. It was then further delayed to May. The Nintendo Switch version is still in the works and is planned to launch on 25 July.

According to some early graphical comparisons, Hogwarts Legacy on the PS4 holds up quite well. A video, which you can watch below, shows the game running on PS5, PS4 Pro and PS4. While there’s a clear difference in quality, the game still looks pretty great.

According to the analysis, the PS4 runs the game at 1600 x 900p and scales between 30fps and 50fps depending on the scene. The PS4 Pro then runs at 1920 x 1080p and runs between 30fps and 60fps depending on the scene.

You can see from above that there are some differences to pay attention to. The draw distance is especially reduced on the PS4 version. The sheer amount of detail seen on the grass and other areas shows a reduction in assets too. However, it still looks pretty great,
