Hogwarts Legacy, one of the most anticipated upcoming PS5 games is reportedly going through some troubled development. According to a new report by well-sourced industry insider Colin Moriarty, Hogwarts Legacy is facing some development trouble and it is just a matter of time before WB Games announces the game’s delay.
Speaking in his latest Sacred Symbols+ podcast, Moriarty touched on the game when his co-host brought it up. He said, “I’m hearing behind the scenes that game is not coming out this year, and that it’s in some sort of trouble.” Moriarty didn’t elaborate any further on the matter. However, this is the latest so-called “update” we have had about the game for some time now.

The last we heard, Hogwarts Legacy was planned to release after Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore hits cinemas. This was according to Warner Bros general manager Rachel Wakely who chimed in on the Harry Potter series last year saying that Warner Bros had “two major releases in 2022”. One is the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and the other was Hogwarts Legacy.
We also heard back in November last year that WB Games had new content to show us from Hogwarts Legacy. However, the ongoing drama surrounding creator J.K Rowling forced the publisher to delay the latest trailer. According to Bloomberg, the developers behind Hogwarts Legacy have fought to make the game as inclusive as possible. This means players can create transgender characters if they want to. This was done not only to create a more open experience but to also spite Rowling and her views.
As I mentioned before, take this with a pinch of salt for now. Hopefully, Hogwarts Legacy is still set to launch this year and we will see more about the game soon.
