Hogwarts Legacy Review - A Magical Masterpiece

Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Hinted at in Recent Job Listing

Developer Avalanche Software has hinted at a potential sequel to Hogwarts Legacy already being in the works thanks to a recent job listing. The open-world RPG was 2023’s best-selling game with over 24 million copies sold, beating out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in sales. With those impressive sales figures, a sequel was inevitable, though we may finally have some confirmation that it’s moving forward.

As reported by Game Rant, Avalanche Software recently put out a job listing seeking a Producer to work on an unknown project. The description mentions that the applicant should have experience working on open-world RPGs or “action/magical combat games.” All signs seem to point to Hogwarts Legacy based on those requirements. Fans expected a sequel may eventually happen given the success of the first game, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the studio is making a follow-up.

Alternatively, there’s a slim chance that this job listing might be related to Hogwarts Legacy: Director’s Cut, which we know is happening thanks to a report earlier this year from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier who noted that some of Rocksteady’s staff that worked on Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League were moved over to work on the director’s cut of the Wizarding World RPG.

Beyond the job listing, not much else is known about the Hogwarts Legacy sequel. Some fans speculate that the story will be set closer to the events of Harry Potter or could be based around the events of Fantastic Beasts, where we’ll likely meet younger versions of professors and powerful wizards during the rise of Grindelwald.

The last major update for Hogwarts Legacy launched back in June which added new outfits to the game, a photo mode and much more.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
