Hogwarts Legacy has continued to dominate the gaming charts around the world and in the UK, it has officially surpassed Elden Ring sales. Keep in mind that these sales are attributed to the physical boxed game sales in the United Kingdom. Hogwarts Legacy still remains in the No.1 spot in the UK despite sales for the game dropping 31% compared to the previous week.
According to stats, Hogwarts Legacy has also surpassed Elden Ring when it comes to digital lifetime sales for the game too. This means Hogwarts Legacy is officially bigger than Elden Ring when it comes to both boxed and digital sales.

These numbers are staggering considering Hogwarts Legacy was only launched on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Elden Ring was released on the last-gen hardware too. Hogwarts Legacy is still to debut on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year so the game will likely sell a few million copies then too.
Elden Ring is still one of the most-sold video games of all time which sits next to the likes of GTA V, Modern Warfare 2 and LEGO Star Wars: The Sky Walker Saga. However, by the look of things, Hogwarts Legacy is on its way to surpass many of these games. In fact, LEGO Star Wars is on the brink of being dethroned by Hogwarts Legacy by the end of this week.
In terms of other game sales, Mario has reentered the top 10 after the recent drop of the movie’s final trailer as well as promotions surrounding Mario Day. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe returned to the No.3 spot from No.5 and Super Mario Odyssey saw a 55% increase in sales. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury also moved up nine spots to No.20 with a 13% increase in sales.
