Hollow Knight: Silksong Possibly Teased for Summer Game Fest

Hollow Knight: Silksong has possibly been teased to appear at the upcoming Summer Game Fest. The very long-awaited sequel to Hollow Knight has evaded most gaming showcases since its announcement in 2019, but a new exchange between Silksong‘s PR director and Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley on social media has given us our biggest clue yet.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was first unveiled on 14 February 2019, but went radio silent for the last several years. Fans originally expected the game to show up at a Nintendo Indie showcase, but many have come and gone without Silksong‘s presence. However, it looks like it might finally show up at Summer Game Fest, if some friendly banter between industry vets is to be believed.

Silksong PR director Matthew Griffin recently took to Twitter, replying to a tweet by Keighley who said, “there’s nothing like the feeling of seeing a good world premiere arrive in your inbox.” Griffin responded with the eyes emoji, which is often used to hide the fact that the poster knows secrets or unshared information that’s related to the original tweet.

Naturally, this caused a lot of Silksong hopefuls – who have been waiting for far longer than the formerly hollowing Elden Ring fanbase – to beg for any inkling of information on the anticipated sequel, though this tease is already a good sign that Silksong is ready to make its grand reappearance in the gaming world.

That said, it’s possible that this is a bit of clever misdirection and there’s no Silksong waiting for us at Summer Game Fest. We can only speculate what will actually appear at the show set to take place later this week. We wouldn’t put any money on it yet, but there’s a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel now.

Summer Game Fest takes place on 9 June 2022 at 8PM SAST.
