Hood: Outlaws & Legends is looking pretty awesome. Last week Focus Home Interactive showcased some brand new gameplay for the PvPvE heist game and explained how a typical match will play out. Today, the developer has revealed the post-launch roadmap for the game and of course it includes a Battle Pass system as well as free content.
Focus Home Interactive and Sumo Digital say that all players can look forward to a range of free content in Hood: Outlaws & Legends. In addition, the game will launch with a Year 1 Edition whereas players who own this version will gain access to three premium Battle Passes released throughout the year. These passes will be themed around certain seasons and contain cosmetic items for the playable classes in the game.
Of course, this means the game will get four seasons in its first year. The first being the launch season that everyone will gain access to. The remaining three can be unlocked through the Year 1 Edition Pass or purchased separately. A new map called “Mountain” will arrive shortly after the game’s launch in May. This map forms part of the game’s first season called Litha. It is designed around two large areas connected by bridges with a mix of long sightlines and tight combat areas.
The Litha season will also introduce a new game mode but details are scarce on what this could be. However, the trailer hints that it may be a combat-focused mode. Sumo Digital also plans on rolling out community events across each season that will hand out free cosmetic items for a limited time.
In short, players who own the game won’t miss out on any new content but if they don’t splurge on the battle passes then they will miss out on the cosmetic items. The free content includes maps, new characters, gameplay additions and much more.
Check out the trailer down below and prepare for the game’s launch on 7 May 2021. Hood: Outlaws & Legends is releasing on PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC. If you pre-order the digital edition you unlock the game three days early. Else, you have to wait until 10 May 2021.
