Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC Costs R359 – Pre-Orders Now Live

Sony has opened pre-orders for the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC. The content is set to launch on 19 April only on PS5. The company revealed last week why the downloadable content, which sees Aloy venture to the volcanic Los Angeles archipelago, is only headed to PS5. The developers say that the PS4 couldn’t run some of the high-octane moments players will encounter in the content. As a result, the team at Guerilla Games had to cancel the DLC for the last-gen console.

You can now pre-order Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC. The content costs R359. Pre-orders also come with two in-game items which include a Blacktide Dye Outfit and a Blacktide Sharpshot Bow.

The short trailer that came alongside the pre-orders showcases these items as well as some of the gameplay. There’s also a short snippet of what looks like Aloy fighting a Horus. These colossal machines have been present in all the Horizon games but have been dormant up to this point.

A fight with a Horus is likely the reason why the PS4 DLC was cancelled. The gameplay snippet shows off some crazy destruction and other effects. All of this processing power needed to create this fight wasn’t available on the PS4.

You can pre-order Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC from the PlayStation Store here. The content releases on 19 April for PS5. Watch the pre-order trailer below:
