Horror Shooter Scorn is Coming to PS5

What was once an Xbox and PC exclusive is now headed to PS5. Ebb Software has announced that Scorn will release on PlayStation 5 later this year and include some advanced DualSense features and all the game updates. There’s also a physical Deluxe Edition on its way too set to launch sometime in late 2023 too.

Ebb Software says they worked hard to implement some unique features for Scorn on PS5. Notably, there are some DualSense haptics that happen during the game which the studio claims helps bring the world to life in a new immersive way.

These haptics tie into various audio and visual cues in Scorn to provide immersion while exploring and even during combat.

The main character in the game interacts with the world mostly by using his hands. Most of these interactions are also painful for the character. That’s where haptics comes into play. The imagery offered to the player’s eyes is painful by itself, but we wanted to increase this feeling by giving a sensation to the hands holding the controller. Players are also able to feel the directions of haptics (left or right hand), further adding to the experience.

The game will also make use of the adaptive triggers as players use them for combat and exploration. The DualSense controller light bar will also indicate the player’s health and change colour depending on their vital signs.

As for the physical edition of Scorn, the Deluxe Edition will launch when the game arrives (no date yet). However, players can look forward to a hard copy of the game with a SteelBook Case, Digital Artbook and digital soundtrack.

You can see the physical version in the trailer below at the end of the video.

Scorn was released in 2022 for Xbox and PC. The game didn’t receive the best reviews but it is nice that gamers on PS5 can now play it.
