How to Play Cyberpunk 2077 in Third Person

It was bound to happen – a Cyberpunk 2077 third person mod has arrived. When CD Projekt RED announced that the game was a first-person shooter, fans were divided on the idea. After spending hundreds of hours in third-person while playing The Witcher 3, many believed a first-person perspective would ruin the character creation system. Thankfully, PC players can now experience Cyberpunk 2077 in both first and third-person thanks to a new mod.

How to Install Cyberpunk 2077 Third Person Mod

Modder Jelle Bakker released the “TPP MOD WIP third-person” (yes it is a strange name). Overall, the mod works quite well in-game. In order to install the Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod, users need to download the Cyber Engine Tweaks program and install it. Once installed, users then need to drag and drop the mods into the plugins folder within the Cyber Engine Tweaks. Keep in mind that there are two third-person mods available: one for male characters and one for female characters.

The Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod breathes new life into the game and gives you a fresh new perspective when walking about Night City. There are some bugs and issues which users need to keep in mind. Firstly, the game was not meant to be played from first-person so animations look a bit wonky. Characters are stiff and the overall game movement is much faster than the character’s walking animation. Then there’s swimming. Don’t be surprised if your character looks absolutely ridiculous while underwater. No really, what in the fresh hell happened here?

You can download the Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod from Nexus Mods. There’s also a pretty great tutorial on how to install the mod in the same video above.
