Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is The Prequel to Breath of The Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still one of the greatest games released this generation. If you have played it and wondered what happened before Link awoke and set off on his quest to take down Calamity Ganon then the upcoming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is for you. While this is not a fully-fledged Legend of Zelda game, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set 100 years before Breath of the Wild and follows the story of Link and the four champions.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity follows in other Koei Tecmo game’s footsteps by delivering large-scale beat-em-up battles. If you have played any Dragon Quest Heroes or Dynasty Warriors game then this will feel familiar. However, the big difference here is the dedicated setting for the game that not only adopts the Breath of the Wild art style but also the characters and setting. Most of the time, these games blend together characters and heroes from multiple games of a series into one mashup.

One important thing to note is that Princess Zelda is now a badass fighter in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. She joins the other champions alongside Link to take down the Calamity. The game is set to release on 20 November 2020 for Nintendo Switch.
