A new video diary for the upcoming “I Am Jesus Christ” has been shared by developer SimulaM and shows off quite a lot of new gameplay and in-game mechanics. The video touches on the various locations players will be able to explore in the main game and many of these are based on real-world cities and environments based on biblical references. Here, players can walk around, interact with NPCs and take on quests and challenges while they are at it.

Of course, it won’t be a Jesus Christ game without the miracles and developer SimulaM shared the first look at the game’s ‘magic’ and how the so-called healing system will work. The system is still in alpha but according to the developer, it revolves around on taking over molecules and preventing the ‘bad’ energy from forming in those molecules. Sort of like a checkers board game approach but with adding and subtracting attack damage.
Developer SimulaM also showcased some in-game activities including catching fish which revolves around using the elements and timing these button presses at the right time in accordance with the pattern on the screen. Players will also get the opportunity to perform miracles during specific ceremonies which will improve their popularity. These range from the resurrection, pass through, healing and more.
There’s also a combat system in the game which revolves around fighting demons that come out of possessed citizens. The combat system also relies on using the elements to deal damage to these demons. Fire, water, earth etc.
There’s no current release date for I Am Jesus Christ yet but the game is slowly getting there. You can follow the development on Steam. According to the official description, the game is based 2,000 years in the past.
