Immortals of Aveum Gets Delayed

EA’s upcoming magic action shooter has been delayed. Immortals of Aveum was originally set to launch on 20 July but the publisher has pushed its release date back by a month to August.

According to Ascendant Studio’s CEO Brett Robbins, the delay will help the team finish off some polishing and optimise the experience for players.

Immortals of Aveum is one of the first games built on Unreal Engine 5.1 and the team simply needed a bit more time to finish stuff off. The statement from Robbins reads:

“As you know, this is our first game as a self-funded independent studio. We set out five years ago to ambitiously make an original Magic FPS in a new fantasy world.” Along the way, we worked through a pandemic, built a new team, developed on Unreal Engine 5.1 and pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible. Now, the finish line is in sight.

The recent feedback to the game proves to us what we already felt: that Immortals of Aveum is something special. In order to realize our full vision, we are going to take a few extra weeks, making our new launch date Tuesday, August 22nd.

This will give us time to further polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch. We owe it to ourselves and to you to get this right.”

The delay is only a month which isn’t bad at all. We have seen worse delays in gaming. Pushing Immortals of Aveum to August also means you have something new to look forward to in that month. With the madness of June with Diablo 4 and Final Fantasy XVI, you might need July to catch your breath.
