Indiana Jones: The Great Circle is shaping up to be a well-fitted entry into the popular action-adventure franchise. The game, which is due to be released sometime this year, has been crafted to look and feel like a classic film. So much so that Machine Games produced the story and characters to exist in the Indiana Jones series.
Instead of Indiana Jones: The Great Circle simply being a spin-off of the series, the game takes place between The Last Crusade and Raiders of the Lost Ark. This means the Indiana we see in the game, who looks like Harrison Ford but is voiced by Troy Baker, is the same guy from the movie.
Die-hard fans of the series will undoubtedly feel right at home in Indiana Jones: The Great Circle thanks to this. I wonder how many throwbacks to the films we’ll be able to spot in the game? According to Machine Games, Indiana Jones: The Great Circle will also take players all around the globe. The gameplay reveal trailer touches on Indiana’s journey revealing that the actual “Great Circle” is in fact different locations around the globe which act as markers to this long-lost treasure.
If you line up all these locations and draw a line from one to the next, it creates a great circle around the world. We don’t know anything more about how this great circle plays into the overall story. However, players will likely visit each of these points of interest throughout the game.
We can only hope that Indiana Jones: The Great Circle doesn’t turn out to be a story as bad as the Crystal Skull. The game is expected to launch sometime this year.
