Instagram states that 68% of people say they come to the platform to interact with creators. The new features will give these creators the opportunity to tell their stories through different mediums, even if you do not follow them.
The in-app ads are already live with feed ads being available now. Stories will receive these ads in the coming months too which will show “influencer” sponsored posts while you are tapping through your Stories feed.
Like all paid sponsored content, Instagram will label these ads as “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership”. The experience will also be powered by Facebook’s ad campaigns which could be fed into the Instagram platform at the same time.
