Insurgency Sandstorm has been available on PC since back in 2018 but console players have missed out on the CS: GO-inspired shooter. Last month, New World Interactive hosted the first beta for the game and it seems the testing was positive. Insurgency Sandstorm has now been dated for PS4, PS5 and Xbox. Players can look forward to jumping into the action starting on 29 September 2021.
For those who don’t know Insurgency Sandstorm is a realistic shooter that is inspired by the likes of CS: GO and other competitive FPS games. Insurgency Sandstorm also prides itself on its unique sound design that combines realistic distant tracking with positional voice-chat to create an even more unique experience. For example, your teammates can only hear you when your character is standing nearby and the further you walk away, the softer your voice gets. Like the real world.
At the moment, it is unclear what modes and DLC packs the PS4, PS5 and Xbox versions of Insurgency Sandstorm will release with. On Steam, the game has quite a hefty number of DLC packs that include customization options for characters and weapons. The PC version has also just received its Operation Exodus free update. Focus Home Interactive did not reveal whether or not these modes are available on the console release.
