The new Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors for laptops include some fancy new features and speed improvements. This includes the new integrated Xe graphics, Thunderbolt 4 support, Wi-Fi 6 and a huge improvement to performance and battery life. Intel claims the 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors are the best option for light and thin laptops.

The new Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor lineup includes a range of new chipsets. There is a new Y-Series, U-Series and Core i7-1185G7 which offers speeds of 3.0GHz and can boost up to 4.8GHz. Quite impressive for a laptop chipset. The new i7-1185G7 also includes the Xe integrated graphics with 96 CUs and a max GPU speed of 1.35GHz.

While the new chips are still 10nm, Intel claims they are built with a new “10nm SuperFin design” that offers better speeds at lower power consumption. The company claims the new chips deliver 20% faster speeds for day-to-day “office use” and a 20% increase in “system-level power”. This results in an extra hour of battery life.

As for the Xe integrated graphics, Intel says it delivers up to twice the graphics performance in laptops. In addition, the Xe integrated graphics enables 8K HDR support as well as up to four 4K HDR display at once.
