Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs Leaked Ahead of This Week’s Reveal

Intel might be undergoing some drastic changes to help bring in revenue after two rocky CPU launches one year apart, but the company is determined to make its standalone GPU hardware a success. The unreleased Intel Battlemage GPUs have leaked ahead of this week’s supposed reveal. The Battlemage lineup includes the Arc B580 and B570 cards.

Intel is expected to announce these new GPUs on 3 December. However, ahead of the reveal, the cards were spotted online at various retailers. Sadly, these listings did not contain any specs for the GPUs. We have heard from previous reports that the Battlemage products will offer “mid-tier” performance and in no way compete with high-end GPUs.

One retailer listed the higher-end B580 as a “limited edition” GPU with a retail price of $250. The B580 reportedly comes packed with 20 Xe2 cores and a 2.8GHz GPU clock. It also includes 12GB of GDDR6 RAM with a 19Gbps 192-bit memory interface. The card will use a single 8-pin PCIE connector. However, third-party models have been rumoured to make use of a double connector.

Specs for the lower-end B570 haven’t made their way into the wild just yet. We don’t have long to wait because Intel is expected to showcase the GPUs tomorrow. Do they matter? With the NVIDIA RTX 50-Series just a month away and AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs expected in early 2025, Intel likely doesn’t stand a chance.

The company’s previous attempts at GPUs didn’t go down well. The first-generation Intel Arcs hardware resulted in poor sales and low uptake. The industry is currently ruled by NVIDIA and AMD with PC owners set on adopting either or brand. It is unclear what Intel’s objective is here.

After this price leak, the general reception online has been mixed. Some users say $250 for an RTX 4060-like GPU is great value while others assume Intel doesn’t have a place in the GPU industry.
