Apple is bringing Visual Intelligence features to the iPhone 15 Pro range. The feature was thought to be exclusive to the iPhone 16 lineup, and the recently announced, priced, and dated iPhone 16e.
Currently, the only way to use Visual Intelligence on the iPhone 16 is through the Camera Control button, which is exclusive to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. It would be natural to think that because of the lack of Camera Control on the iPhone 15 Pro, you can’t access the feature. However, Apple is adding a Visual Intelligence shortcut to the Action Button to accommodate the iPhone 16e’s lack of Camera Control.
So while the company has unlocked the ability to use Visual Intelligence on the iPhone 16e this way, they are also doing it for the iPhone 15 Pro. It makes complete sense. At the launch of Apple Intelligence last year, the iPhone 15 Pro was the only device to support the AI features due to its more powerful processor.
When the iPhone 16 arrived, the company seemingly dropped that claim and blocked Visual Intelligence from the phone, even though it was more than capable of using it. Apple simply used the lack of a Camera Control button as an excuse.
This is great news for iPhone 15 Pro owners who have been living in FOMO without Visual Intelligence. Apple says the feature will arrive in a new iOS update. Once available, you’ll be able to assign the Action Button shortcut to the phone to access Visual Intelligence. ce. You’ll also be able to use the Control Center to make a widget available to access the feature.
