Apple dropped new products in South Africa today including the new iPhone 16 range and Apple Watch Series 10. Today marks a big day for the brand and South African Apple fans as it is the first time we have had new iPhones launch on the same day as the United States.
Technically, we had them launch before the United States given the time difference. Local Apple fans can head to their nearest iStore this morning and grab an iPhone 16 before the American population even hits 20 September. It is quite a momentous day.
The iPhone 16 lineup includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The base phone starts at R20,999 and the Pro model starts at R26,499. Both phones include new Apple A18 chips with Apple Intelligence capabilities. They also come with the new Camera Control button which is a physical touch capacitive button on the device.
Other features include larger displays, improved battery life, camera improvements and more. The iPhone 16 Pro model has also added 4K 120Hz video recording alongside a new microphone technology that enables users to isolate voices and record studio-level audio.
Keep in mind that you can also trade in your current iPhone for up to R22,000 off a new purchase at iStore. With that in mind, here is the local pricing for the iPhone 16 lineup.
