iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Announced With USB C

iPhone 16 Lineup to Improve Battery Life With High Density Batteries

Apple is reportedly working on improving the battery life for the 2024 iPhone 16 lineup. According to reliable Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kou, the company has ordered higher energy density battery cells for the iPhone 16 lineup with the iPhone 16 Pro Max seeing the largest bump in size.

Keep in mind that “higher energy density” doesn’t mean the battery in the iPhone 16 lineup is going to be bigger. These batteries likely include the same mAh size but thanks to their increased energy density, they boast improved battery life with the same-sized pack.

However, these batteries do come with heat issues due to the smaller, tightly packed cells. As a result, they tend to overheat if installed incorrectly. Apple is using a new stainless steel battery case on these batteries to help mitigate the heat and act as a thermal solution.

These batteries are likely to arrive with these stainless steel cases on them and installed into the iPhone 16 lineup as is. This means these batteries are likely going to be easier to replace than previous iPhone models. This has also been done to please the European Union which has now mandated all tech brands to deliver “consumer repairable devices”.

Little is known about the iPhone 16 lineup at this stage. We know that Apple plans to introduce a Rose-coloured iPhone 16 Pro model and keep the lineup in titanium. However, we don’t know if the company will be introducing titanium into its base iPhone 16 model this year. The phone is expected to get the Action Button treatment too.

Apple usually announces the new iPhone around September each year. So we are a few months away from seeing them in the flesh. Of course, the closer we get to the launch, the more leaks are expected to surface. We’ll share any big ones here.
