It Takes Two Film Being Produced And Could Star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

An It Takes Two movie is currently in the planning phase and it appears that it will be produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and it could possibly star the actor as well.

It Takes Two developer Hazelight revealed in January that it had teamed up with dj2 Entertainment to adapt the video game for the big screen. dj2 Entertainment is the same production company behind the recent Sonic the Hedgehog films.

The project has been joined Jumanji and Jungle Cruise production house Seven Bucks Productions which was co-founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, along with Amazon Studios.

Dany and Hiram Garcia will produce the film alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on behalf of Seven Bucks Productions and it is believed that Johnson will star in the movie as well.

It Takes Two was published by Electronic Arts and developed by Hazelight which tells the story of a husband and wife that are seemingly having martial problems and on their way to a divorce. They are then transformed into living dolls and are forced to work together to escape the fantastical world that they are now trapped in.

It Takes Two is a wonderful co-op adventure that has since won several notable awards including Game of the Year 2021 and sold over three million copies. Variety claims that since the title released on Xbox Game Pass it has reached an impressive 10 million players.

Production has not yet started on the It Takes Two film adaptation and there is no expected release date either. Given the typical length of time for these kinds of projects, I think we can comfortably say that we can expect a 2024 release date at the earliest.
