Jack Black’s Peaches Song From The Super Mario Movie Enters Billboard 100

Jack Black made his first appearance on the Billboard 100 as a solo artist thanks to the viral tune from The Super Mario Bros. Movie. If you have watched the film, you probably chuckled a bit during Bowser’s piano moment as the villain declares his love for Princess Peach during a musical number. The song he sings is called “Peaches” and was actually written by Jack Black, Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, Eric Osmond and John Spiker.

That’s a lot of people involved in writing a song with only a few words but regardless, people love it. So much so that it has now entered the Billboard 100 in the United States. The Peach tune landed at number 83 and has already racked up over 5.8 billion streams.

These 5.8 billion streams come from Spotify, Apple Music and other large streaming services. It also counts radio plays of the song.

Of course, you can’t have a popular song without it being popular on TikTok and YouTube. The song has over 17 million views on YouTube and around 50 million on TikTok.

The Peaches song isn’t the first Super Mario tune to grace the Billboard 100 though. Back in 1992, the official Super Mario Land tune was released at number 8 in the UK. The song was made popular by the video game released at the time.

Even though critics slammed The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the film has been one of the most popular animations to date. It generated over half a billion dollars worldwide and is the highest-grossing film of 2023.
