John Wick Spin-Off Series The Continental First Trailer

John Wick Spin-Off Series ‘The Continental’ Gets First Trailer

The John Wick spin-off series titled The Continental was first announced back in 2021. According to the story of the movies, The Continental Hotel is neutral ground for assassins where they can take breaks between missions. The new three-part mini-series will explore the early days of the hotel’s establishment and expand the lore of the John Wick universe. Judging by the new teaser trailer, it’s looking pretty fantastic.

The prequel mini-series will focus on the early days of New York’s hotel and feature a younger Winston Scott (played by Ian McShane in the movies) before his takeover of the grounds. Actor Colin Woodell will play the young Winston. Ayomide Adegun will play the young Charon, who was portrayed by the late Lance Reddick in the movies. The Continental is set to debut this September and marks the first of many planned spin-off projects in the John Wick universe. Ana de Armas’ Ballerina movie is expected to hit cinemas next summer.

The official synopsis of The Continental reads:

“The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”

Without the star power of Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski’s stylish touch, we’ll just have to wait and see if the John Wick universe can survive and thrive without their creative involvement. Apart from the ridiculously entertaining action sequences, the John Wick movies have always delivered excellent world-building – something that needs to be at the foundation of The Continental when it airs later this year.
