Keanu Reeves Says Joining The MCU Would Be “An Honor”

Earth’s favourite person Keanu Reeves has stated that it would be “an honor” to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a recent interview. The actor, best known for The Matrix and John Wick, has always been on the mind of Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige, and it’s only a matter of time before they find the perfect role for him in the MCU.

In a recent interview with Esquire, Reeves said “it would be an honor” to join the MCU. His response was in light of speculation and rumours online about the actor potentially joining Marvel’s cinematic world. However, Reeves’ reply was quite wholesome as usual, demonstrating his intimate knowledge of the MCU.

Reeves spoke a bit about Marvel Studios and the scope of their expansive universe:

“Isn’t it bigger than a universe? It’s almost like a multiverse… It’s a Marvel-verse… There’s some really amazing directors, and visionaries, and they’re doing something no one’s ever really done. It’s special in that sense in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it’d be cool to be a part of that.”

Interestingly, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige has been looking for a role that would suit Reeves since 2019, and he’s been in all discussions with “every movie the company makes.” While Phase 4 of the MCU is already laid out, it’s possible that Reeves may enter the universe during Phase 5. Fans have put forth some of their own ideas for characters that would suit Reeves, from Ghost Rider to The Beyonder. Whichever role he eventually lands in the MCU, it will be a breathtaking casting choice.

Keanu Reeves is set to star in The Matrix Resurrections, which arrives in cinemas and HBO Max on 22 December 2021.
