Kena: Bridge of Spirits looked great during the PS5 reveal back in June. The game, while still being a mysterious fantasy action-adventure follows Kena on her question to purify a corrupted world. The game is set to release on PS5, PS4 and the Epic Games Store this holiday season. However, with the game’s PS4 launch, players have wondered whether or not they can purchase it on PS4 and get a free PlayStation 5 upgrade. It seems that is the case.

According to the official developer Ember Lab, the PS4 will get a PS5 upgrade for free. In addition, the game’s upgrade will come with a load of visual changes and of course the reduction of load times.
This is great news for gamers. Unlike Remedy’s Control which requires a whole new purchase from the current-gen to the next-gen version, this won’t. In addition, Ember Lab confirmed the game is set to launch on both PS5, PS4 and PC at the same time later this year.
Players who don’t plan on upgrading to the PS5 this year can always buy Kena: Bridge of Spirits on PS4 and enjoy the PlayStation 5 version at a later date.
