Warhorse Studios has announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with a 2024 release window. The game is a direct sequel to the 2018 release and follows peasant-turned-knight Henry and his companion Hans through the civil war during 15th century Bohemia.
The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was well-received by fans despite lacking any fantasy elements which may have given the game a sort of “Skyrim” theme. It was authentically crafted to deliver a medieval fantasy setting and featured some intense first-person combat.
The game was also known for its stunning visuals and realistic physics where players had to position their attacks in certain angles and directions to attack their opponent. It was a difficult game but it stood out as a result.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 aims to bring back the authentic gameplay. The sequel will include the same first-person combat while adding in more brutal attack combos and difficult-to-master weapons. Warhorse Studios has also improved the ranged combat by adding new crossbows and firearms. Although, they will come with the same cumbersome and realistic feeling.
The studio also says the sequel is going to feature a game twice as big as the original. This includes the story and world size. This has been possible thanks to the large development team at Warhorse Studios, The original game first kicked off development with only 11 people. The studio now has over 250 active staff members.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is expected to launch sometime this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. At the moment we don’t how demanding the game will be when it comes to its hardware requirements. The original game is still one of the most graphically demanding games on the market. By the look of the trailer, the sequel is going to demand even more.
