Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is getting a hardcore mode for players who want add a little more challenge to the open-world RPG. Developer Warhorse Studios has revealed that the hardcore mode will arrive next week and give Henry 10 “perks” that protagonist Henry can inherit to make his life tougher than it already was.
Warhorse Studios explained on social media recently that the hardcore mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will introuce 10 new perks that have negative effects for Henry. While the full extent of these effects haven’t been revealed, we can sort of guess what they’ll do based on their names alone. Punchable Face, for example, could make Henry appear not-so-handsome in front of NPCs, possibly impacting his success rate in dialogue exchanges.
Meanwhile, Picky Eater suggests that Henry will outright reject certain foods and can only eat whatever the perk demands. Alternatively, Hangry Henry implies that you’ll never truly be able to satiate his hunger as he’ll constantly need to eat. The full list of perks revealed include:
- Numbskull
- Somnambulant
- Bad Back
- Bashful
- Picky Eater
- Sweaty
- Menace
- Heavy Footed
- Punchable Face
- Hangry Henry
If the first game’s hardcore experience is anything to go by, it’s safe to say the sequel will remove Henry’s compass, making navigating a little trickier. Henry’s position on the map will also no longer be shown, and without a compass, you have to get familiar with the environment’s landmarks and locations to successfully navigate and explore. If Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 wasn’t already immersive enough, these new perks will surely deliver that extra dose of realism by introducing gaping character flaws.
Hardcore mode will release next week sometime in an update, though Warhorse Studios hasn’t given an exact time or date yet.
