Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the upcoming action-RPG from Warhorse Studios, claims it has the longest script in video game history. The Guinness World Record is currently held by Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3, though if Warhorse Studios’ claims are true, then it might just be the new record-holder.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II director Daniel Vávra recently posted on X claiming to have beaten the record for longest script in game history, defeating current reigning champion Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s worth noting that Baldur’s Gate 3, according to the Guinness World Records, was cited as having over two million words in its script.
The news gained some traction when YouTuber ESO_Danny posted a photo of himself next to a massive stack of papers, all apparently the script for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. ESO_Danny claimed in his post that the script length for the action-RPG sequel was 1.7 million words which was quickly corrected by the game’s official X account, saying, “Actually, it’s over 2.2 million words in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Danny.”
If this claim is correct, then it would’ve beaten the world record for Baldur’s Gate 3. Of course, this can’t be verified until the game’s full release next month so for now, Baldur’s Gate 3 still holds the world record.
As far as I know its the longest script for the game ever. Including BG3. https://t.co/nN8NxbT4qT
